WILD ALTAI TREKKING
|
In
it's upper part, especially in early autumn, Tekelu river is rather small
stream- no problem to cross even without backing horses! |
|
To
the climber's attention- interesting peak is seen from the ascent on Sulu-Boch
pass (Mensu mountains group)... |
|
After
descent from Sulu-Boch pass, we enter to the absolutely wild (seems visited
only by bears and few hunters a year!) gorge of Sulu-Airy river. We stayed
overnight in small nice grove on the left bank of the river (right down
corner) - to reach it, we were managed to cross the river! After having
good rest, we go back, cross the river again and climb up the rocky slope
to the traice of trail above the precipice - one of bad things there were
flat slippery stone pieces covered the trail... |
|
Upon
reach a small "false" pass, turn right and look carefully for
the saddle to the left from the summit- this is our target- unnamed 2-saddle
pass (about 3,000 m height). After nasty small-stone talus, we reach
nice pure, fresh stream- good sign for hot day! The author even think that
stream has energetical power - because some guys decided the best way to
go through the pass is to climb the summit (and they did!)! Good for us
the weather was quite and the author's voice was, to the contrary, loud
enough... ;-) |
|
From
the 1st suddle of the unnamed pass, we go right around the summit and reach
large plateau- surrealistic landscape (to the Mr. Lucas attention! ;-) with
only one small spring, where we stay for lunch... |
|
|
On
the descent, extraterrestrial landscapes do continuing... |
|
...and
suddenly put us into brutal earthly swamp in the Bartuldak gorge! After
this, small meadow on the forest's edge with neighbour small lake looks
like earth paradize! (it is needless to say how nice was to swim in this
lake!). |
|
|
Because
of the gorge slightly down is becoming a canyon, we were managed to make
nice side trip down through virgin Altai taiga... |
